'Take me, use me... I give my life to the Potter's hand'. These words, sung by the beautiful Darlene, portray someone willing to hand over everything - trusting that there is, indeed, something of worth to offer their Lord. Not so for our little Sesame Street hero.
Do you, like me, sometimes look at the reflection staring back in the mirror and wonder, what can I possibly offer that is worthwhile? I'm not like the other girls. Not in looks (I'm darker than most - Dad from St Helena), louder than most (I call that passion - others blame my African roots!), emotional - I call it tenderheartedness. (Some see it simply as exhibitionism). And I could list several more 'differences' or 'shortcomings'.
No matter what label we've had placed on us - the reality is that we can so often feel we simply do not 'fit in'.
How do we change this downward trend? Simple, really, though not simplistic. We need a change of heart! We need minds renewed - by Truth. Only as I look into the Word, the mirror of a higher truth, am I reminded once again that our God is in fact not looking for a cloned army of faceless warriors. No. He truly loves us the way He created us to be. We are each a very limited edition, one-of-a-kind! Tall. Short, curvy, skinny, hot redhead or greying brunette! We are each seen, known, cherished and called by our Heavenly Dad.
Don't go denying who you're meant to be by grasping after someone else's life.
No. Fully embrace the multi-faceted beauty you are - and take hold of the destiny your Lord and Creator has mapped out for you.
Be who you are! If 'green' - then relish in your uniqueness. Be the best 'you' that you could possibly be!
Oh, how He loves us!
I'm an introvert, really, who from time to time finds expression of thought via the written (or typed) page. Thanks for dropping by!

Using S.O.A.P. regularly
I love the Word, don't you? But if, like me, you are one of those who've read countless chapters and books of the Bible over the years and don't regularly write down or blog what you've read, then you are, like me, often frustrated with the lack of recall of the treasure you've uncovered over the years.
The now widely used tool called 'SOAP' is something I discovered fairly recently. It's such an easy thing to pick up and yet, profoundly powerful in taking the Word and making it practically applicable to my everyday life. I don't use it 'strictly' each time I read the Bible, but when I do, I know I've taken a hold of truth and made it practical and will be impacted and changed by the Living Word at work in my life.
Here is a link to some helpful tools.
I dare you to try...and see how it might transform your walk with God into one full of amazing adventures in and through His living Word directly impacting your heart and life.
Some of my thoughts and notes on what I've read are available to read on my Youversion notes page. Enjoy!
