Happy to be doing life with the wonderful and passionate Richard Shaw, who is a radical God-chaser and leader of Solent Community Church. Love my children, grand-children and my super-precious SCC family. Love worshipping Jesus, especially with His church. Still amazed at the pre-determination of God in seeking me out and catching me up in His eternal plan! Love the treasure in the Word. Facing the twilight years

I finally spoke to a lady I've noticed several times while out on my walks to the beach. Tall and elegant. Always impeccably dressed with hair and face simply, but carefully, made up. Never keen to guess a lady's age, I suspect she is on the other side of 70, at least.

She caught my eye a few weeks ago when, hurrying to my favourite spot on the local beach, I noticed how slowly she was making her way down the road. It got me thinking about my own age - 50 not too many years away now - and how my body and energy levels had changed in recent years. How frustrating to begin to notice new limitations. How sad it must be too, not being able to share life's moments, significant or trivial, with a loved one. The thought of doing life alone is so so sad.

So, when I saw her again today, I took a deep breath, crossed over the road and introduced myself to her. In the few brief moments it took for us to slowly walk the distance to her front door, I learned that she was determined to have her daily walk and dose of fresh air, that she originated from London but returning was out of the question and that a new vicar had turned her off church!

I said goodbye and was left with the distinct sense of 'divine-ness' in the meeting. Perhaps we can be friends...and who knows where that might lead...perhaps there is some way the Lord wants to share His love with this lovely lady.

Life can be such an adventure! What will tomorrow hold?
